The new ‘CUEVID’ system simplifies rigging, a single connection on the stage carries all cue light and Video feeds from the camera.

Extensively upgraded and refurbished Model 3 (MK3) Steadicam. The unreliable original electronics and tiny monitor has been replaced with a 4” Master series monitor.

The rig has been rewired to allow 24V Film Camera use. It is now powered by 3 readily available (4ah) NP1 style batteries, one powers the monitor and focus leaving 2 batteries available to independently power the camera.

For Film use the batteries are switched it give 4ah at 24V. When used with a TV camera the sleds camera batteries can be switched to give an 8Ah capacity at 12V or to make the sled lighter the third battery can be removed completely.

If a self contained DV camera is used only 1 battery needs to be loaded in the sled to run the monitor making the rig even lighter for long duration use.

This rig is supplied with a fully serviced MK3 Steadicam arm, the industry standard for Feature Film use for many years. This is a full size arm so all TV cameras and most film cameras can be used with this rig.

This is a solid lightweight basic rig ideal for training or low budget short film use.

Tiffen’s latest flagship Steadicam model. This is a fully fledged 24/12V film rig equipped with advanced on screen artificial horizon and battery monitoring.

New innovations include a programmable remote controlled stage that can be centred for rigging at the touch of a button. The remote control handset can even be programmed to precisely reposition the stage during shots.

This rig has been optimised for broadcast use with a removable ‘Cuevid’ module giving the same Cue light, Return Video, Zoom and Focus capabilities as Mike Scott’s Ultra 1 and Master Series rigs.

This is Mike’s preferred rig and it is generally reserved for his use. It may occasionally be dry hired to those keen to try an Ultra 2 in a working situation.

A small patch box that attaches to the Steadicam vest. It carries two balanced XLR plus a return feed through highly flexible miniature cables to the camera.

The sound recordist plugs into the patch box rather than the camera, this removes most of the drag from his sound cables and saves the cost and uncertainty of using radio links for the sound or timecode.
